Mayor Of London And Baroness Kennedy Speak At London Office Event
The Mayor of London and Baroness Helena Kennedy of the Shaws were amongst 100 guests who celebrated the arrival of Irwin Mitchell’s new employment and professional discipline team in London last night.
The team, headed by Shah Qureshi along with partners Shazia Khan and Emilie Cole, specialise in advising senior executives and professionals in employment matters and are recognised leaders in their field.
They have been involved in many high profile and landmark cases including sensitive discrimination and whistle blowing claims. They arrived at Irwin Mitchell in June 2018 and joined an existing employment department in London which included partners, Mel Stancliffe and Sybille Steiner.
Victoria Brackett, CEO at Business Legal Services at Irwin Mitchell, welcomed guests Baroness Helena Kennedy of the Shaws who gave an impassioned speech about #MeToo and the role of lawyers in doing the ‘right’ thing in whichever area of law they work.
Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, for whom Shah and Shazia were once trainees, also addressed the audience on the contribution of the legal sector to the economy and the importance of Irwin Mitchell’s new service for senior employees and professionals in London.
