Irwin Mitchell In The Community
We’ve postponed choosing our Charities of the Year for 2021.
This allows us to provide our 2020 charities with some extra support while the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact fundraising opportunities.
Our charity of the year for 2020 is Capable Creatures.
Capable Creatures is a user-led non-profit organisation, created by people with mental health conditions. The charity looks to empower and enable others with mental health conditions to live a fulfilling life through peer support and the use of dogs.
Currently, 'Guides for the Mind' Assistance Dogs, or 'Psychological' Assistance Dogs, aren't available in the UK. The charity hopes to change this by helping people with Mental Health Conditions to train their 'Guides for the Mind' Assistance Dogs. They also work to get these dogs officially recognised and accepted as assistance dogs.
