David King Hiked In The Peak District For Child Brain Injury Trust
A personal injury lawyer based in Leeds has taken part in a 50km hike in the Peak District to raise over £1,000 for a children’s charity.
David King, an associate solicitor at Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds office, trekked across the Peak District for the second year running to help fundraise for the Child Brain Injury Trust.
The Child Brain Injury Trust, established in 1991, is the leading voluntary sector organisation providing emotional and practical support, information and learning opportunities for families and professionals affected by childhood acquired brain injury across the UK.
The charity raised over £23,000 from the walk, which occurred on 22nd September. David raised £1,230 for the charity, after taking on the 50km in 12 hours challenge.

Expert Opinion
“I was delighted to take part in the walk again, and help raise money for Child Brain Injury Trust.
“Through our work at Irwin Mitchell, we see the great work the charity does, not only in helping those who have suffered a brain injury, but also supporting their loved ones.
“We enjoy a good relationship with the charity. I am already looking forward to tying my laces for the third hike next year to see if we can raise even more money.” David King - Senior Associate
Amelia Larard, Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator for Child Brain Injury Trust, said: “We are thankful to David, and all those who came along and fundraised for us this year. The walk was a tremendous success and the money raised will be used to help those children that have suffered a brain injury.
“Every 30 minutes, a child or young person will acquire a brain injury. This could be the result of an accident, an illness such as meningitis or encephalitis, a poisoning, a stroke or a brain tumour.
“A brain injury has a devastating and life-long impact on the child and their whole family. Bones can mend and scars can heal but a brain injury stays with you for life and impacts on everything you think, feel and do.”
