Illness Concerns Raised In Relation To Gastric Illness
Travel law experts at Irwin Mitchell have been instructed by a number of holidaymakers following their holidays to the Playa Pesquero Resort in Cuba in March 2014, with many complaining of suffering from symptoms including severe abdominal pain, diarrhoea and vomiting.
The holidaymakers have reported that food was sometimes undercooked and lukewarm, and that crockery and cutlery was not always as clean as they would expect from a resort of this type.
The luxury Cuban resort has been under recent scrutiny after up to 18 holidaymakers, including a wedding party, required hospital treatment through IV drips in March 2014, to treat their severe dehydration.
Expert travel lawyers at Irwin Mitchell have already secured nearly £50,000 in settlements for holidaymakers who suffered illness at the resort in 2008, 2009 and 2012, and are currently pursuing legal action on behalf of people staying at the resort in 2013.
Expert Opinion
We are very concerned to hear such widespread reports that so many holidaymakers appear to have fallen ill at this resort, with many holidaymakers reportedly requiring medical attention.
