Irwin Mitchell's expert personal injury team has helped a man successfully claim £25,000 in compensation after he slipped on ice outside a supermarket.
The accident happened in January 2010 at a supermarket in Preston. Our client was walking towards a trolley storage area at the front of the supermarket, when he slipped on an area of untreated snow and ice.
The fall caused a break to his left elbow. The injury was so severe that he had to undergo surgery to fix the break.
During his recovery, he was unable to perform many day-to-day tasks for himself and was unable to work for 11 weeks. Once he was able to return to work, he could only undertake light duties for some time.
Kerry Hadley from Irwin Mitchell’s personal injury team based at the Sheffield office represented the man and helped negotiate an out-of-court settlement of £25,000 in compensation.
The money helped our client to recover his loss of earnings from when he was not able to work and also compensated him for the pain and suffering he had experienced.
If you've been injured in a supermarket and it wasn't your fault, our personal injury claims team could help you claim compensation. See our Supermarket Accident Compensation Claims page for more information.
