Irwin Mitchell has recently represented a woman who was struck by a vehicle whilst out horse riding with a friend.
The pair was making their way across a motorway bridge on the M6 and started to ride across the northbound slip road. They reached half way across the clear road, when the woman suddenly heard a car approaching them. The car continued, hitting both horses, killing them instantly. The woman was thrown onto the car.
Upon assessment of her injuries, she sustained a cracked sternum, severe bruising to legs, a fractured tooth and flashbacks.
Although the woman recovered from her injuries within 12 months of the incident, she still has flashbacks.
Irwin Mitchell successfully represented the woman and the driver was found guilty of drink driving and banned for two years.
The woman received £5,000 in compensation.
