A 54 year old woman, sustained injuries to her foot, hand and wrist when she was knocked off a motorbike by an oncoming car.
The driver of the vehicle appeared to lose control and crossed over onto the other side of the road, throwing the woman over the handlebars of the bike and she landed on the floor.
She fractured four bones in her foot; fractured her ring finger, along with other bones in her hand; and fractured her wrist. She required surgery to fix the hand and wrist fractures and her foot was placed in a plaster cast so that she had to walk with crutches for seven weeks.
Intensive physio treatment followed but she will have permanent discomfort in her wrist and foot.
