In February 2009, our client was involved in a road traffic incident, where another car reversed at speed into our client’s car in a car park. The other car then attempted to leave the scene of the incident, but our client followed the vehicle until it pulled over in order to exchange insurance details.
What Happened Next?
Our client attempted to speak to the other driver, who failed to provide insurance details and tried to flee the scene again, however, as the other driver tried to flee the scene they drove into our client, who fell onto the bonnet of the car and onto the road as the car sped up and fled the scene.
How Was Our Client Affected?
Our client sustained bruising and grazing and was aching all over. Following the accident they suffered intermittent neck and back pain and also had difficulty performing various exercises at the gym, such as bending, lifting or carrying heavy weights. The ordeal also left our client with psychological problems, as they experienced nightmares, flashbacks and as a result had difficulty sleeping. Our client was forced to take a week off work, as they struggled to concentrate on tasks due to the lack of sleep and trauma from the incident.
What Was The Outcome?
The person driving the other car denied liability and court proceedings were issued and served. We helped our client recover compensation of £13,500 in an out of Court settlement in April 2013.
