I am a Senior Associate Solicitor working in our Newcastle and Middlesbrough offices. I worked previously within the Health Service as a senior MRI radiographer. I am an Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA) panel member and an Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) senior litigator.
I specialise in clinical negligence cases and act on behalf of clients who have suffered serious injuries, recovering substantial amounts of compensation to fund care, therapies and a range of other needs. I also represent families at inquests where a loved one has died through negligent medical treatment.
I have expertise in birth injury claims involving children who have cerebral palsy as a result of delays in delivery or inadequate neonatal care. I also represent mothers who have suffered injury during delivery or where there have been failures to diagnose congenital conditions during pregnancy.
I act for adults who have suffered a brain or spinal injury or who have suffered avoidable amputations and I have a special interest in cases involving delayed cancer diagnosis and negligent surgery.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of my job is helping clients and their families to achieve their aims, at what can be a most distressing and difficult time in their lives, whether this is to secure compensation to fund care needs and rehabilitation, or to obtain answers about the treatment received.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
I am part of a caring, compassionate and very knowledgeable team of lawyers who always strive to do the very best for clients.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
I enjoy walking and travelling and relaxing with family and friends. I am a Boccia Leader and enjoy helping with local groups. I also work with local schools on an initiative which encourages diversity in legal careers.
