Funds Set To Improve Parent Facilities for Children’s High Dependency Unit

Lawyers from national law firm Irwin Mitchell have donated £3,000 to support a project which will update the facilities available to parents whose children are being treated at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

The Serious Injury team based at the firm’s South West office have provided the donation to help the hospital update its parent shower room, which is used by adults while their children are receiving care in the Children’s High Dependency Unit.

The room is in need of modernisation by completely removing the existing facilities and adding a new shower tray and door, as well as new toilet, sink and flooring.

Following the donation, the hospital intends to undertake the project and have it completed as soon as possible.
