Law Firm Sponsors Leeds St Patricks Day Parade 2017
Thousands gathered together to enjoy the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Leeds as Millennium Square was painted green, white and orange with Irish flags as people celebrated their Irish heritage.
The Parade, of which law firm Irwin Mitchell was one of the sponsors, is now in its 18th year and has become a highlight for many in the city, and from further afield. This year marked the third year that Irwin Mitchell, through their close contact with Leeds Irish Health and Homes, had been involved with the Parade.
The firm regularly works closely with Leeds Irish Health and Homes, a local welfare charity which offers a variety of services and support, not only to members of the Irish community but also to the wider community in Leeds. These services include housing support, Irish community support service and dementia support.
Ross, who attended the Parade as a representative of Irwin Mitchell, said:
Expert Opinion
“It is always good fun to be part of the Leeds St Patrick’s Day Parade.
“There are always so many people in attendance and it was great to be able to discuss Irwin Mitchell’s involvement with the Irish community in Leeds, as well as our disability sports projects and the general work we do.” Ross McWilliams - Partner
In addition, Irwin Mitchell worked with the charity to help it secure Local Sustainability Funding and entered into a Partnership to share the law firm’s skills to help the charity improve their service and become sustainable.
As part of this working relationship, Ross McWilliams, a clinical negligence specialist lawyer at Irwin Mitchell, holds a monthly free legal advice clinic at the charity’s Leeds headquarters at Gemini Park, Sheepscar Way. These clinics are usually held on the last Wednesday of the month, with the next one scheduled for 29th March.
Due to the success of the scheme in Leeds, the free legal advice clinics have been expanded into Birmingham, with the help of charity Birmingham Irish, and in London with help from Ashford Place.
