Events To be Held In February And March
Irwin Mitchell’s chairman Michael Napier is to chair two upcoming events which will consider how the government’s reforms of costs and litigation funding will affect the legal sector as a whole.
Both conferences are organised by the White Paper Conference Company. The first event is set to take place at the Caledonian Club in London on 8th February.
It will explore how the proposed funding changes impact on access to justice and how new litigation business models will operate in the civil justice system.
High on the list of subjects to be explored will be the development of third party funding. As chair of the working party which produced the new Code of Conduct for Litigation Funders, Michael Napier has been at the centre of these developments, as well as being an assessor to Lord Justice Jackson in his review of the costs of civil litigation.
Interest in the conference has been so strong that the organisers have arranged a repeat event at Gray’s Inn on 27th March, again to be chaired by Michael Napier.
