Strategy Unveiled To Drive Investment In City
New plans unveiled to drive inward investment to Leeds and develop its standing as a business centre have been welcomed by the Regional Managing Partner of Irwin Mitchell’s office in the city.
Local strategic organisation Leeds & Partners has launched the strategy, which is focused on sectors including healthcare, digital, professional services and financial services and aimed at pushing its economy forward in numerous ways.
According to Lurene Joseph, chief executive of the body, the aim is to create a “tectonic shift” which will be less reactive than in previous years.
The stance has been welcomed by Nick Bates, Regional Managing Partner at Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds office and one of the leaders of the professional services businesses involved in the strategy group.
Commenting on the new plans, he said: “This is a hugely welcome initiative which rightly emphasises the important and central role that professional services organisations have been playing in Leeds for some time now.
“It is also both positive and refreshing to be involved in this excellent initiative, which has brought together leading businesses and driven collaboration for the good of Leeds in a manner which will do much to boost the local economy in and around the city.
“This is also an important step towards ensuring that the city’s own professional services base builds on and makes the most of its skills base and existing reputation on both a national and international level.”
