Inquest To Take Place Next Month
Irwin Mitchell have been instructed to act for the family of British mining consultant Ian Robertson following an explosion at a Russian mine where he was working.
Ian Robertson from Goole was working as a mining consultant for the Moscow office of White Young Green International and, on March 19 2007 he travelled to the Ulyanovskaya Mine to carry out a safety inspection.
Whilst he was underground the mine exploded and Mr Roberts died. He was 55 at the time. A total of 110 people died in the blast. A report carried out by a committee of independent experts in Russia following the incident found that the explosion was caused by a build up of methane at the site.
After an adjournment in July, the inquest is to take place at 10am on Thursday 23 December at Hull Coroners Court.
Lesley Edwards of Irwin Mitchell is representing the family of Mr Robertson. She said: “This has been extremely distressing time for Mr Robertson’s wife, two daughters and son who are looking to the inquest and Irwin Mitchell’s investigations to provide some answers into the circumstances surrounding his death.”
