Mesothelioma Event In Newcastle
The Mesothelioma UK Study Day 2009 sponsored by Irwin Mitchell was held in Newcastle on the 2nd October at St. James’ Park.
The day explored aspects of mesothelioma predominantly aimed at health professionals who do not see high levels of mesothelioma patients
Presentations included the affects, benefits and different treatments for Mesothelioma from a number of well respected medical experts such as John Edwards, Chris Stenton and Corinne Faivre-Finn. Roger Maddocks, Partner, Newcastle discussed current issues on legal and compensation issues for mesothelioma and David Urpeth, Partner, Sheffield, gave an insight into The Role of the Coroner.
There was good attendance with around 90 people. Delegates were mainly health professionals including lung cancer specialist nurses and respiratory consultants. Delegates were charged £20 to attend and proceeds are all donated to the Mesothelioma UK Charitable Trust.
The day was a huge success and received excellent feedback.
