Personal Injury Solicitor Stephanie Whatmore has helped a woman to claim compensation after she was injured in a slip at work.
The woman was injured in the accident in December 2009. She was walking towards a cubicle in the staff toilets of the supermarket she worked in when she slipped on a wet patch on the floor.
She felt immediate pain and later found she had suffered a soft tissue sprain to her ankle. She had visible swelling and bruising and felt pain when putting any weight on her injured ankle. Because of this, her husband had to help her with household chores and shopping
To manage the symptoms, which lasted approximately six weeks, she was prescribed pain killers and anti inflammatory medicines.
Stephanie Whatmore from Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield office represented the woman and helped her make a claim against her employer. The case was settled out of court in May 2013 and the woman received £7,000 in compensation.
