Irwin Mitchell has assisted a woman to claim compensation after she fell and fractured her forearm on a dance floor, during a night out.
The accident happened in June 2009 during a night out with work colleagues. The group were dancing on a red brick tiled area which was being used as a dance floor. As our client walked off the dance floor, she slipped and fell, putting her left hand out to break her fall.
Following the accident, our client could see the venue floor was dirty and covered in liquid, possibly spilled drinks or water brought in from outside, which was wet as it had been raining.
Our client had to take 12 weeks off work due to her injuries, and after this time was only able to return two days per week as she was unable to drive, relying on others to transport her to work.
The venue tried to deny responsibility for the accident, so we started court proceedings against them. We were able to get the client over £36,000 in compensation out of court.
If you've been injured due to a slip, trip or fall, our personal injury solicitors could help you claim compensation. See our Slips, Trips and Falls Claims page for more information.
