On 25 November 2010 our client was visiting a well known high street store. During the visit she bent down in order to look at some clothes on a low shelf. At the same time, a shop assistant was rearranging a mannequin which was positioned close to our client, on a high pedestal. As the shop assistant was moving the mannequin around, it fell from the pedestal, striking our client on her head. The force of the blow caused her to suffer a cut to the front of her scalp.
An ambulance was called and she was taken to The Royal Surrey Hospital for medical treatment where they cleaned her wound. She has been left with a scar, but this can be hidden by her hair.
Our client approached Irwin Mitchell in relation to her personal injury claim and we were happy to help her and accept her instructions.
A letter of claim was sent to the store and this was passed onto their insurers. We obtained a formal medical report in support of our client’s claim and liability was quickly admitted by the store.
Our client accepted an offer of £1,500 for her injury.
