Our client was travelling as a passenger in a taxi wearing her seatbelt, when an oncoming vehicle collided head on with the taxi in which she was travelling.
As a result of the accident our client sustained broken ribs, a soft tissue injury to her spine and neck and various cuts and bruises. She also underwent a five week period of rest and rehabilitation including a course of physiotherapy. Following the accident, she also had nightmares and flashbacks back to the accident. She became extremely anxious when driving and felt unable to drive on motorways or busy roads.
Our client approached Cathryn Godfrey of Irwin Mitchell’s Serious Injury Team in Leeds who specialise in road traffic collision cases. With Cathryn’s help and expertise, £11,600 was received in settlement of her claim. This included funding for cognitive behavioural therapy, which assisted our client in overcoming her anxiety when driving.
