Our client was struck by a vehicle when cycling on a dry, sunny day. She was thrown to the ground, dazed and injured.
Our client suffered a fractured right fibula as a result of the accident, which led to course of physiotherapy. She was also unable to ride her bike, drive her car, go walking, swimming, kayaking and climbing, activities which she had enjoyed previously. In addition to the injuries and pain suffered she also developed phobic anxiety, and was restricted in the activities she could perform with her children and also had to employ a cleaner to help around the home.
The case was settled out of Court in October 2011 with the Defendant admitting liability. Irwin Mitchell recovered over £18,000 on behalf of our client as compensation for the pain and suffering caused by her injuries, in addition to her loss of earnings.
