A Leeds woman has received £9,000 in compensation after she suffered a serious injury in fall in a local restaurant.
Ms X attended the restaurant in Leeds in order to have a meal with friends. As Ms X left the ladies toilets, she slipped and fell as a result of a pool of water upon the floor, within the toilets. Ms X fell forwards and as she attempted to steady herself she tripped again on the raised edge of the straw matting in the corridor outside the toilets.
Ms X suffered a fracture to her shoulder in the accident and was unable to drive for 10 weeks.
Ms X made a claim against the restaurant through Irwin Mitchell’s specialist Accidents in Public Places team. Liability was admitted as the restaurant failed in their duty of care to Ms X as a visitor to their premises.
