Personal Injury experts at Irwin Mitchell have recovered £10,500 in compensation after a florist experienced severe lacerations to her middle finger when a vase broke in her hand at work.
Our client was working as a florist in a hotel when the accident happened in February 2010. She was filling up a vase with cold water, when the vase shattered in her hand and caused a severe laceration to her left middle finger.
Due to the accident, our client required surgery and 13 stitches under general anaesthetic to repair the severed tendon in her finger.
Her family had to help her with daily activities at home because she was required to wear a splint for 10 weeks. She had to take three months off work and was unable to drive for a further six weeks.
A range of movement in our client’s finger has been restored but she still experiences numbness and now has a permanent scar measuring the length of her finger.
Our expert accident at work team were able to help our client recover £10,500 in compensation for the injury she suffered.
