In January 2010, a Sheffield couple were travelling as passengers when the car they were in was hit by another vehicle while moving around a roundabout.
The force of the collision left them both with whiplash injuries from which they have thankfully now recovered.
Although the insurers admitted liability and the couple were not at fault, the insurers refused to make a compensation payment to our clients. In order to progress with the claims we were forced to start court proceedings. Where possible, we try to settle cases out of court to limit the stress on our clients. However, in this case we felt that it was necessary to issue court proceedings to ensure our clients received the compensation they deserved.
A few weeks before the trial date, the insurers finally offered to pay the couple £1,000 each which the couple accepted, avoiding the need to go to court.
