Company Admits Liability For Fall On Wet Floor

Our client was a manager at a South Yorkshire company when he suffered a fall in a bathroom in the company building. The floor of the bathroom had been left wet and the cleaner had failed to leave a yellow warning cone outside the door to the bathroom.

Initially the employer and the cleaning company denied liability, saying that our client should have realised the floor was wet. However, Claire Bracewell of Irwin Mitchell pursued the claim, arguing that our client had fallen immediately upon entering the bathroom and could not have realised that he was in any danger.

The defendants’ solicitors finally admitted liability and our client was paid compensation for the severe injury he sustained to his shoulder and his lost earnings following the incident.

If you've been injured as a result of a slip or trip at work, our personal injury claims team could help you to secure compensation. Visit our Workplace Slip & Trip Compensation page for more information.
