Our client, an elderly lady using a mobility scooter, was crossing a pedestrian crossing on her scooter near a supermarket in Stratford upon Avon when she was hit by a car.
The pedestrian lights indicated that she should be able to cross the road and so she proceeded across the crossing. A third party vehicle failed to stop at the crossing and collided with our client, knocking her off her scooter. As a result, our client was left unconscious and sustained a fractured left hip which required a total hip replacement.
The third party was charged with "driving without due care and attention" and the driver’s insurer accepted liability for the incident.
Our client was awarded £30,000 in settlement of her personal injury claim.
