Irwin Mitchell’s specialist workplace accident solicitors helped a man to claim compensation after he was injured at work.
Our client was employed as a labourer at the time of the accident was using a chop saw to cut some MDF architrave. Our client had one hand on the architrave to hold it in place and one hand on the saw handle but as he pulled the chop saw down it bit into the architrave causing his hand to be pulled underneath the blade of the chop saw. As a result he suffered an injury to his left thumb and hand which required reconstructive surgery.
Due to the injury our client had to stay off work for a period of nine weeks.
Following the incident, he contacted our Workplace Accident team to discuss making a compensation claim. His employer admitted they were responsible and with our assistance, he received £10,000 in compensation for his injuries and loss of earnings.
