Fitting Achievement For One Of The Profession’s “Rising Stars”
Irwin Mitchell Employment Partner Emilie Cole has made this Year’s prestigious Lawyer Hot 100.
The Hot 100 lists the “profession’s brightest stars of 2020”. To quote the Lawyer “ The Hot 100 recognises the most daring, innovative and creative lawyers from in-house, private practice and the Bar….. they are all lawyers of the moment…. shaping the legal profession right now.”
This year’s Hot 100 list contained 51 women on its list.
Emilie who is part of the firm’s Employment and Professional Discipline Team had a highly successful 2019. She represented a judge in a landmark victory in the Supreme Court; acting on behalf of district judge Claire Gilham, who claimed she was “bullied, ignored and undermined” by her peers. Emilie helped to convince the court that Judge Gilham should be granted the same legal protections as other whistle-blowers under her European human rights and secured whistle-blower protection for all UK statutory office holders.
Emilie is also building her practice on sexual harassment claims and the dispute impacting the #MeToo-movement. She is a strong advocate for the “underdog”.
