Great British Bake Off Contestant Is The Icing On The Cake At Annual Charity Event
On Thursday 29 August, the fourth annual Time for Tea event hosted by Irwin Mitchell in aid of Weston Park Cancer Charity will be done Howard’s way, as Great British Bake Off contestant Howard Middleton will be dropping by to help with all the fundraising.
From 2.00pm to 4.30pm, guests from Weston Park Cancer Charity, together with Irwin Mitchell clients and staff will meet on the 5th floor of Irwin Mitchell’s Riverside East office in Sheffield to share afternoon tea and a chat with Howard; who will be judging the staff baking competition and bringing along a cake of his own to be first prize in the raffle. Signed copies of Howard’s book will also be available as additional prizes.
Time for Tea has raised over £2,500 for Weston Park Cancer Charity since 2016 but as the 2019 Charity of the Year for the Sheffield office, this event has special significance. The Sheffield office raised £22,411 for the charity by completing the 15 mile sponsored Sheffield Round Walk plus the 25 mile Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and Time for Tea aims to add more dough to the running total.
Expert Opinion
“Time for Tea is a fantastic event and having Howard join us this year is hugely exciting. With his face on the cupcakes, Howard’s involvement is the icing on the cake of an event that aims to give clients a great afternoon while raising funds to improve the lives of those living with cancer. We are looking forward to another fine afternoon of fun and fundraising for a great local cause.” Adrian Budgen - National Head of Asbestos and Occupational Disease
Weston Park Cancer Charity is the Sheffield office Charity of the Year, all part of the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation (IMCF). Established in 1997, the IMCF is an independent registered charity which has donated more than £2 million to good causes throughout the UK and £284,000 in 2018 alone.
Funds raised by Irwin Mitchell this year will be used to support the hospital’s full range of work and assist with plans to transform four specialist suites to boost patient comfort.
