Law Firm Announces Partnership Of New Disability Sports Event
National law firm, Irwin Mitchell is proud to support the Superhero Series, an exciting new mass-participation inclusive sports event for the everyday Superhero.
Founded by Paralympian, Sophia Warner, Superhero Series is a not-for-profit initiative giving total beginners through to elite athletes the chance to find their inner superpower and achieve an inspirational goal.
With its debut event taking place at Dorney Lake, Windsor, on 19 August 2017, the unique strength of Superhero Series is that it will unite all disabilities and encourage participation with as much or as little support as needed.
In addition to sprint, half and full distance triathlons and triathlon relays, the Series will include an elite Para-triathlon race; Celebrity Superhero Tri and a unique Sidekick Tri where participants can be towed, pushed and pulled around the course by their Sidekick.
Team captains for the Superhero Series include Paralympians Anne Dickins, Megan Giglia, and Sophie Christiansen OBE as well as former Royal Marine and Channel 4 Rio 2016 Paralympics Presenter, JJ Chalmers and disabled TV presenter, artist and model, Sophie Morgan with more celebrity names to be announced.
By removing the restrictive rules and regulations that deter or exclude the majority of people with disabilities from existing mass-participation events, Superhero Series has broken down many of the barriers to disability sport participation.
Irwin Mitchell, who have offices all over the UK, are one of the event’s official partners and are supporting the Superhero Tri as part of their Don’t Quit, Do It campaign to encourage more of the UK’s 12 million disabled people to get involved with sport.
