Going through a legal dispute at work can be particularly complicated.
But whatever issue you face, our expert team will go the extra mile to reach the outcome that’s right for you or your business.
Steve Beahan is a partner in our commercial dispute resolution team, with years of experience helping companies of all kinds through challenging times.
We spoke to Steve about his clients and colleagues, and how new developments in law could make it even easier for people to get the right results.
Steve, how would you describe the clients you and your teams look after?
Our clients need both legal and practical advice. They want to feel reassured, and a strategy that helps them achieve their goals.
Many of the people we act for see legal disputes as simply a hindrance to the smooth running of their business. We help them get back on track as effectively as possible.
How do you and your team support people when they’re facing legal disputes?
The most important thing for us is to understand the needs of the business we’re working with. No two are ever the same.
We help people resolve disputes by giving them practical solutions, as well as legal ones.
One of the things that sets up apart are the wide range of funding options we can offer. Disputes can be costly, but offer a variety of different pricing choices and help clients pick the one that’s best for them.
What makes you proud to be a lawyer here at Irwin Mitchell?
I joined Irwin Mitchell as a trainee, and I’ve been here for over 20 years now. I’ve loved seeing the firm grow over time.
Every day, I work with colleagues who take pride in really getting to know the people they act for.
We build strong, lasting relationships with our clients, and give advice that’s tailored to them.
We’re flexible in our approach, and we’re also involved in some really innovative work.
Finally Steve, what are you most proud of in your career so far?
One of the proudest moments of my career was being part of the Civil Justice Council's working group on legal expenses insurance.
This was a highlight for me because I’m passionate about finding new ways to get more people access to justice, and giving them the best possible options to fund their case.
I’m also currently working with a third-party company on the use of artificial intelligence in law.
This cutting-edge technology could help us predict the outcome of cases, so we can give better, faster advice to our clients.
