Irwin Mitchell’s serious injury team have helped a woman receive compensation after she was injured in a road traffic accident.
Our client, Gemma, was getting into her car when another motor vehicle crashed into the front of it, knocking her to the floor. She experienced headaches for almost two weeks due to the collision, as well as bruising and pain to her left leg and wrist for four weeks, with soft tissue injuries to her right shoulder for fifteen months.
The collision has also left her with permanent soft tissue ligamentous injury to her right, dominant, wrist, causing pain and restrictions. She also requires assistance from her husband with cleaning, hoovering, tidying up, washing, dressing, bathing, preparing/cooking meals as well as laundry, ironing and shopping.
Katy Bailey, personal injury specialist based in our Sheffield office, worked on the case and battled to achieve a just level of compensation for Gemma. After a series of negotiations, it was agreed that she would receive £40,000 compensation in an out of court settlement.
