If you want a quick and easy way to get a divorce or dissolve a civil partnership, you could try our fixed-fee divorce, which is perfect for couples who have agreed to separate and will not be contesting the divorce.

You can petition for divorce for just £540*, or if you are responding to a petition from your partner, then our fixed fee is just £264*. We handle everything, from the instruction to the finalising of the divorce.

We are one of the UK's leading family law teams, accredited by independent legal guides Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500, with decades of experience dealing with divorces - from simple to complex cases. We're able to offer a fixed fee because we know what to expect from a case.

You will get your own legal advisor who will work with you from start to finish, and there's no need to go to court. If you and your partner are not contesting the divorce, it could be the ideal solution - if both of you respond quickly the divorce can be finalised in 4-6 months.

If there are financial or children matters to resolve then these would need to be dealt with separately from the fixed fee arrangement.

For the peace of mind that comes with clear and transparent costs and an expert legal team in your corner, call us to chat about our fixed-fee divorce options on 0330 123 3147, or contact us online and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Your consultation is free and there is no obligation to continue with us after this initial call.

* This doesn’t include standard court fees which must be paid separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Fixed Fee Right For You?

A fixed-fee divorce is a good option if you want a quick divorce, and both you and your partner are in agreement that the marriage is over and will cooperate with the process.

A fixed-fee divorce is cheaper and quicker than normal divorce proceedings because it is simple and straightforward. If you or your partner are contesting the divorce, then it may be that a fixed-fee divorce is not suitable for you.

If you have significant wealth or business assets, or complex financial arrangements, you should contact us to discuss the best way forward. It's particularly important to speak to an expert lawyer if one of both of you live outside England and Wales, or if you have:

  • Property or other assets overseas
  • Money in trusts
  • Business assets
  • Significant pensions

With decades of experience as one of the UK's leading family law firms, working on divorce cases of all kinds, we can give you free advice on whether fixed-fee divorce is a realistic option for you.

Speak to one of our expert solicitors today on 0330 123 3147, or contact us online, for a free, no-obligation consultation. If we decide that a fixed-fee divorce is not suitable for your needs, we have a wide range of other options we will be able to discuss with you, including mediation, arbitration and collaborative divorce services. You can find out more about these on our out-of-court divorce services page.

How Much Does It Cost?

If you are filing the divorce, you'll pay £540*. If you are responding to a petition from your partner, you'll pay £264*.

These prices cover the cost of the entire process, including issuing or responding to the petition, an application for the decree nisi, and an application for the decree absolute, which finalises your divorce. You will get your own legal advisor who will handle everything for you from start to finish.

These fees do not, however, cover the cost of standard court fees. Any matters relating to financial arrangements or children will need to be dealt with separately.

To find out whether you are able to take advantage of our fixed-fee divorce option and get one of the UK's leading family law teams at a capped low price, call us on 0330 123 3147, or contact us online, for a free initial consultation.

What's The Process?

If you choose a fixed-fee divorce, the process is straightforward, and requires no court appearances:

  • Step one - Talk to a family law expert about your circumstances. We'll assess your situation and let you know whether a fixed-fee divorce is feasible
  • Step two - If we are able to offer a fixed-fee service, we will issue or respond to the divorce petition
  • Step three - If you are filing for divorce, we will apply for the decree nisi
  • Step four - We will then apply for the decree absolute
  • Step five - The decree absolute is pronounced and you and your ex-partner will be officially divorced

Your own fixed-fee divorce solicitor will handle everything for you throughout these steps and will be on hand to answer any questions you might have. As long as you and your partner respond quickly to any requests for information, you could have your divorce completed in as little as 4-6 months.
