Biography
I am an Associate Solicitor specialising in Court of Protection matters. I joined the Irwin Mitchell Court of Protection Team in 2017 and am based in the London office.
I assist our Deputy and Trust clients in managing their finances and property. This includes helping them with a range of activities, from overseeing daily finances to assisting with purchases and renovations of properties to meet their needs. I work with the Irwin Mitchell Personal Injury Team, supporting ongoing Personal Injury or Clinical Negligence claims by managing interim payments, setting up suitable care packages and considering funding for any equipment that may be needed.
I'm also part of the litigation support team, preparing expert Deputy or Trust witness statements for clients with ongoing claims. These explain past and future costs of managing a Trust or Deputyship, so that these can be appropriately included in their claims.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
From a young age, I have always wanted to help people. This led me to studying law and I am now able to assist and advise people on their problems. Working in the Court of Protection team gives me the opportunity to work with vulnerable people and their families to provide them with the help they need.
What Is The Most Rewarding Part Of Your Role?
I enjoy working with vulnerable clients and their families, in partnership with specialised case managers, to help give them a better quality of life. I make sure they have the right support and any equipment that can make their day to day life more manageable. It's great to see the benefit these changes have for my clients, for example, when sensory rooms are put in place at their property.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
By working at Irwin Mitchell I am able to work with professionals who have a great level of experience in their fields. Our team is very approachable and have the same drive to do all they can to support each of our clients by focusing on what is in their best interests.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
I am a member of a dance company and go to weekly rehearsals, as well as performing at various events and festivals throughout the year. I also volunteer to teach the younger dance group, which allows me to build upon my choreography qualification. In slower moments, I like to spend time socialising with my family and friends.
