On the 22nd December 2009, Rosie Mayes' life changed forever when she sustained catastrophic injuries following a road traffic accident. Rosie and her parents recall the events of that day and reflect on the challenges that the family have had to overcome.
It took 30 minutes for firefighters to save her from the wreckage. Medical staff saved her life, but she was left tetraplegic, with only a small amount of movement in her left bicep.
A team at Irwin Mitchell specialising in serious injury cases helped Rosie and her family secure funds to ensure that Rosie can receive the 24-hour care and rehabilitation she needs for the rest of her life.
In this new documentary series, we explore the impact Rosie’s life-changing injuries have had and what she’s gone on to do following her recovery.
