Nicola Gooch And Pamela Chesterman Recognised For Influence And Contribution To Planning
Two planning partners from Irwin Mitchell’s Planning & Environment Team have been recognised for their influence and impact on the industry:
Nicola Gooch has been selected by The Planner Magazine’s panel of judges as one of The Planner’s Women of Influence for 2023. Each year The Planner acknowledges the most influential women in and around planning as nominated by its readers.
According to the magazine, “We believe the final list is representative of the women who have been making an impact on the work of planning and planners over the past year.” The magazine recognises Nicola’s work in “supporting colleagues, communities and the wider aims of planning”.
Nicola is well known for her planning law work in the areas of complex mixed use regeneration projects, community infrastructure levy and more recently being at the forefront of ecological mitigation schemes. She heads Irwin Mitchell’s Retirement Living sector and also writes a regular blog which is widely read across the industry. She is a legal columnist for the Planner, one of the heavyweight titles in the sector.
Pamela Chesterman has been elected by Women in Property to re-join its North West Committee. She will sit within the Liverpool subcommittee, which is focused on organising/hosting events in the Liverpool City Region.
Women in Property focuses primarily on providing opportunities for women in the property and construction industries to meet other professional women and grow their networks. It hosts educational events, as well as providing opportunities to socialise and build confidence in different networking situations.
Pamela joined Irwin Mitchell in October 2022 shortly after it opened its Liverpool office.
Expert Opinion
“Planning is an intrinsic part of the built environment and in creating and facilitating the development of new homes and towns that we need in Britain today. We have a strong national planning team at Irwin Mitchell with partners based across the UK to help advise on the ever-changing legal framework.
"I am delighted that both Nicola and Pamela have been recognised for their commitment to the industry and the contributions they have made and will continue to make going forward.”
