Law Firm Supporting September Event For Maggie’s Cardiff

Following the opening of a new office in Cardiff, law firm Irwin Mitchell is sponsoring a forthcoming ‘Culture Crawl’ in aid of cancer charity, Maggie’s.

Taking place on Friday, 23 September, the ‘Culture Crawl’ will take in some of Cardiff’s most interesting sights along the route through Cathays and Roath. It will include live entertainment, food and a taster of the programme of support Maggie’s offers people living with cancer.

People are now being encouraged to sign up to the event and raise money for the charity.

Since the first centre opened in Edinburgh in 1996, Maggie’s Centres have continued to grow. The centre at Cardiff’s Chris McGuigan Building opened in 2019. It’s one of the charity’s 26 centres in the UK, testament to Maggie’s belief that people should not “lose the joy of living in the fear of dying.”

The Culture Crawl evening includes the food, entertainment and a special goody bag for those taking part. It is hoped participants will raise £60 or more in aid of the charity’s work in the region.

Rachael Davies, the Centre Fundraising Manager at Maggie’s Cardiff, said: “It’s a pleasure to have Irwin Mitchell on board with us for the Culture Crawl event.

“Since opening our doors in Cardiff, so many of the people we support have had to face the challenges of COVID and lockdown in addition to living with the challenges of cancer.

“We’re here to support people with cancer and their family and friends, no matter what type of cancer or what stage. There’s no need to make an appointment, just come in. Our support is free, and our fundraising ensures we can continue to support more people in the future.

“Our centre is funded entirely by donations from people, groups and businesses in the community. Sponsorship means we can do so much more to help people and we’re grateful for Irwin Mitchell’s support and look forward to welcoming people along on the day.”
