Firm Improves Ranking Among The Best Workplaces For Women In The UK
For the second year running, national law firm Irwin Mitchell has been ranked as one of the best firms in the UK for women to work for by the Great Place To Work Institute.
Irwin Mitchell ranked 9th in the Super Large category of organisations across the UK with over 1,000 employees – up four places on last year’s 13th place.
The firm moved up five places in the overall Great Place To Work rankings announced in April; which has been followed up with a new ‘Flexible by Choice’ approach to working and the launch of a raft of new family friendly policies, with major enhancements to paternity and parental leave.
Despite the challenges posed by having to adapt to new ways of working following lockdown, the firm has continued to build its gender diversity credentials and remains a top ten law firm for its percentage of female partners.
Irwin Mitchell now has the highest percentage of female solicitors of any UK law firm, with women making up 74% of colleagues, 47% of partners and 40% of the executive board.
A consultancy specialising in workplace culture, Great Place To Work helps organisations to create high-performing workplaces where employees feel trusted and valued.
The UK’s Best Workplaces for Women awards recognises the high level of engagement and trust in Irwin Mitchell when compared to a range of organisations across all sectors.
A lot of hard work has been undertaken by the firm to improve gender balance and champion diversity, which has led to one of the lowest gender pay gaps in the legal industry, coupled with a high representation of women at senior levels of the business.
