Leading Law Firm Is Headline Sponsor For Rugby Charity
Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth has announced its partnership with the children’s rugby charity Wooden Spoon as a headline sponsor.
Wooden Spoon aims to transform the lives of children and young people across the country through rugby, providing grassroots projects with the means to support children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage through the power of rugby.
It funds around 70 projects a year including community programmes and medical treatment centres, and has distributed £26m to over 700 projects since the charity’s inception in 1983.
Wooden Spoon’s Partner Club Programme offers rugby clubs the opportunity to work with the charity to raise funds for both their club and local projects supporting disabled and disadvantaged children.
Wooden Spoon currently has 84 grassroots clubs enrolled in the programme, with the project expanding month on month and with a reach of around 37,000 rugby club members.
As a major sponsor and the only law firm sponsoring Wooden Spoon Partner Clubs, Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth will work closely with the charity to support its growth and outreach to new clubs as well as sponsoring their events, where all of the funds raised go directly to the projects the charity supports.
The sponsorship comes following Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth’s partnership with The Times during the Six Nations as well as its recently launched I Am Able campaign, which shines a light on five of Irwin Mitchell’s personal injury and medical negligence clients’ abilities rather than disabilities.
