Law Firm Once Again Shows Commitment To Disability Sport
The Hampshire Harriers wheelchair basketball team are set for an equipment and funding boost after a national law firm committed to supporting disability sport renewed its sponsorship of the side for the third consecutive year.
The Southampton office of Irwin Mitchell is once again the principal sponsor of the club, meaning that the team will be able to buy new equipment, fund access to venues and matchday staff as well as continue with efforts to raise the profile of the sport in general.
Based in Weston, the Harriers were originally established in the 1980s for a three-month trial period. However, more than 35 years later, the team are still going strong and fields multiple teams in Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Association competitions.
The sponsorship of £1,000 is yet another sign of Irwin Mitchell’s continued commitment to backing disability sport initiatives across the UK through its Don’t Quit, Do It campaign. Backed by stars including Hannah Cockroft MBE, the initiative was created to raise awareness of the benefits of being active and encourage people try out sports at their local clubs.
