Law firm Irwin Mitchell has announced a significant boost to its Employment team with the appointment of three partners from Bindmans.
The appointment of Shah Qureshi, Shazia Khan and Emilie Cole takes the total number of employment partners in Irwin Mitchell’s London office to five and the total number across the firm to 10. They are listed in Legal 500 and Chambers Directory as recognised leaders in employment law and professional discipline.
Shah Qureshi, partner and Head of Employment and Professional Discipline at Bindmans, will head up the London Employment team. Shah's practice covers all areas of employment and discrimination law, and he represents executives and professionals in both contentious and non-contentious work. He has extensive experience of advising on regulatory issues including cases before the Financial Conduct Authority and General Medical Council.
He has developed a strong reputation in pursuing successful discrimination and whistle-blowing cases. He also acts for a range of employers including national charities, local authorities and companies.
Shazia Khan advises on all aspects of employment law including high value discrimination claims, whistle-blowing and redundancy. She represents professionals subject to regulatory proceedings, in particular those instituted by the General Medical Council. Shazia has developed a particular interest in acting for Consultants who have been excluded by their NHS Trust and subject to investigation under the MHPS Policy.
Emilie Cole has a prominent high net worth practice, with over 15 years’ experience in supporting professionals negotiate exit packages, and advising on high value discrimination and whistleblowing claims in the Employment Tribunal. Emilie has a special interest in supporting women who have suffered discrimination in the workplace.
