Wheelchair Basketball Team Set To Invest In Vital New Equipment
A wheelchair basketball team in Lancaster have received a funding boost from Irwin Mitchell as part of the national law firm’s continuing campaign to promote the physical and psychological benefits of participating in disability sport.
The Lancaster Bulldogs wheelchair basketball team, which plays in the National League Division 1, is set to put the £500 donation towards the purchase of some new equipment as it looks to further develop its facilities.
Now in its 9th year, the team boasts a squad of 17 senior players and recently also expanded its horizons with the creation of a junior and development team.
Irwin Mitchell is providing support to the team as part of its Don’t Quit, Do It initiative, which was created to encourage people to get involved in disability sport and highlight the many benefits of getting active. The campaign is backed by multiple gold medal-winning Paralympian Hannah Cockroft MBE.
