Expert Sexual Abuse Lawyers To Provide Advice To Those Supported By Charity
Expert sexual abuse lawyers at Irwin Mitchell have teamed up with Birmingham’s Rape and Sexual Violence Project (RSVP), a leading rape crisis charity, to provide free legal advice for the people the charity has supported in the past and those currently using its services.
RSVP supports and inspires children and adults in Birmingham and Solihull who have been affected by sexual violence and abuse and enables those affected to live a more confident and hopeful future, and learn to cope with and recover from their traumatic experiences.
The aim of the clinics, which will be held at Grosvenor House, Birmingham, on the last Friday of each month, is to offer free legal advice to individuals using the services RSVP provides across a broad range of legal topics, including civil claims.
RSVP was the Charity of the Year for Irwin Mitchell’s Birmingham office in 2015 and is a charity the firm has worked closely with in its efforts to support clients who are survivors of sexual abuse.
Expert sexual abuse lawyer Scott Tolliss, who is also a Trustee of the charity, will be providing free advice, alongside Yvonne Langham, Head of Independent Sexual Violence Advocacy (ISVA) Services and her advocacy team at RSVP.
Lisa Thompson, CEO of RSVP, said: “We are constantly working to improve the services we can offer to those affected by sexual violence and rape and we believe these free legal clinics will once again increase the level of help and support we can provide.
“The clinics for RSVP clients will take place on the last Friday of every month and we hope it will prove to be extremely useful to those who require legal advice, but may not be able to afford it.”
