

Irwin Mitchell Raising Funds For Local Charities In 2016
Leading national law firm Irwin Mitchell has announced its charities of the year for 2016 across its nationwide office network.
Employees in each office voted to support a number of different charities throughout the whole calendar year, donating the proceeds of charitable activities, such as bake sales, dress down days and special events, to the local causes.
Irwin Mitchell’s Charity of the Year initiative is part of the work Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation, an independent registered charity set up by the partners and employees of the law firm. More than £1.25m has been donated to worth causes since the Foundation was formed in 1997.

Irwin Mitchell’s charities of the year for 2016 are:
Birmingham – Molly Olly’s Wishes aim to support emotionally and financially the lives of children with terminal or life threatening illnesses throughout the midlands and UK.
Bristol – Bristol Autism Support provides a support network for families affected by autism in Bristol and South Gloucester.
Cambridge – Jimmy’s Shelter is the only emergency accommodation of its kind in the Cambridge area offering a warm and welcome environment throughout the year for men and women who would otherwise be forced to sleep rough.
Glasgow - Glasgow Association for Mental Health promote mental health and wellbeing of people in the local community, providing over 2000 hours of community based support every week to people in the city.
Leeds – Leeds Mind is a group affiliated with national charity, Mind who provides advice and support to people who are experiencing a mental health problem.
London – Fare Share organises the collection of waste food from around London and delivers it to charities and community projects across the capital to provide meals for Londoners in need of support.
Manchester – MedEquip4Kids children’s charity is dedicated to raising money to provide paediatric medical equipment and facilities for hospitals and community health teams.
Newcastle - Tiny Lives is a specialist charity that supports premature and sick new born babies and their families on the Neonatal Unit at the RVI Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Southampton – SERV Wessex provides a free out of hours transportation service for NHS Hospitals in the area, transporting blood products and other consignments allowing hospitals to divert financial and staff resources elsewhere.
Sheffield – Support Dogs is a charity dedicated to increasing independence and quality of life for people with various medical conditions through providing training and support to specialist assistance dogs to achieve this.
Irwin Mitchell’s Group Company, Berkeley Law will also be supporting national charity Macmillan Cancer Support throughout the year.
Irwin Mitchell has also recently merged with Thomas Eggar which will continue to support their chosen charities in the south of England including; Aldingbourne Trust, Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice, Haven House Children’s Hospice, The Rose Road Association and West Berkshire Mencap.
