Investigations Underway Following Incident At High Street Store
A six-year-old boy remains in a critical condition after suffering a serious head injury following a fall from an escalator at the Nottingham branch of Primark.
The high street retailer is working with health and safety council officers to investigate the accident, which occurred when Ryan Holley reportedly fell from the first to the ground floor at the store on Long Row on Wednesday (October 24th).
It has been confirmed that the youngster is in an induced coma at Nottingham’s Queen Medical Centre.
David Urpeth, a legal expert at Irwin Mitchell who has vast experience acting for victims and families affected by accidents in public places, said it was vital that answers are gathered in relation the incident.
He said: “Very little is so far known as to how this incident occurred, so it is clear that council authorities and the retailer need to carry out a thorough but rapid investigation to provide more information.
“This was clearly a very serious incident and it is absolutely vital that all aspects of it are carefully considered.
“The ultimate aim needs to be to ensure that any lessons can be learned from this incident to ensure that the same terrible issue is not repeated in the future.”
