Irwin Mitchell’s Serious Injury team helped a woman to secure compensation and rehabilitation following a road traffic collision.
Our client was travelling to work by car when another vehicle failed to give way at a crossroads. The cars collided and our client’s vehicle was pushed into a wall.
Due to the crash, the woman sustained a fracture to her eye socket, a laceration to her forehead (which scarred) and soft tissue injuries to her knee, neck, shoulder, back and leg. Our client also suffered psychological problems following the accident; she became extremely anxious when travelling by car, either as a driver or passenger.
To help our client during her claim, we arranged for her to undergo physiotherapy through a rehabilitation provider and also organised some in-car psychological therapy. Both sources of therapy were funded by the driver’s insurers.
Our team also contacted experts for our client to receive advice on cosmetic camouflaging to help disguise the residual scarring which had left her self-conscious since the crash.
Working with the woman, Irwin Mitchell’s serious injury experts secured a five-figure settlement for our client, which took into account her pain, suffering and care costs.
In relation to the case, Louise Morgan, a serious injury specialist, said: “Our client suffered from symptoms which affected her day-to-day life following the accident.
“We were able to arrange for our client to receive appropriate physiotherapy and in-car psychotherapy through a rehabilitation provider, paid for by the other driver’s insurers, from which she really benefited.”
