Irwin Mitchell’s specialist international personal injury lawyers have managed to secure compensation for 15 passengers who became ill on board P&O’s Azura Cruise in 2012.
Passengers on the vessel complained that the food was sometimes left uncovered for long periods of time. It was also noted that occasionally, food was served lukewarm and fresh food was often added to existing dishes.
A group of 12 passengers fell ill with serious gastric symptoms including diarrhoea, abdominal pain and vomiting. A further three guests came to us to claim for their loss of enjoyment and lowered valuation of their cruise because the others they were travelling with became so ill.
One of the passengers in the group said: “While it took some time to secure this settlement, the amount received in compensation made it well worth the wait.
“It is far more than we ever expected and I am naturally delighted with this outcome. I am quite sure I could never have achieved this on my own.”
