Irwin Mitchell's serious injury lawyers in Sheffield have recovered a five figure settlement for a young man injured in a road traffic collision in June 2011.
Our client was a passenger in a car driven by a friend who, when turning from a main road into a side road, drove into the path of a car travelling in the opposite direction, resulting in a collision.
The driver's insurers admitted liability.
Our client sustained a broken leg which required surgery and the fitting of a bar to repair it. He was off work for approximately four months. He also suffered from nightmares and flashbacks, as well as significant anxiety when travelling in cars following the accident.
Serious injury expert Louise Morgan dealt with the case. She said: “We were pleased that as part of the claim we were able to agree with the driver’s insurers that they would fund sessions of therapy to assist our client in recovering from the travel anxiety he developed following the accident. He’s now able to drive and is less anxious when travelling as a passenger.”
