Specialist personal injury solicitors at Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield office have secured £1,300 in compensation for a young man injured at work.
In November 2008, our client, who was 17 years old at the time of the accident, was employed by Argos as a delivery assistant. He was helping a colleague move some boxes which contained gaming chairs to a display area in the store. Whilst moving the boxes, his colleague had to take a phone call and left our client to move the boxes by himself.
The roll cage which they had placed the chairs in was too big to fit through the door, so our client left it outside the door and had to carry the first game chair in its box to the display area.
He began to move one of the boxes from the roll cage onto a nearby desk. He then slid this box from the desk onto the top of some other boxes. As he then began to move these other boxes, he felt pain in his back.
Due to the injuries sustained, our client had to undergo a course of physiotherapy and had injections to ease the pain. Through the hard work of specialist solicitors at Irwin Mitchell, £1,300 was awarded in compensation.
