Specialist solicitors from Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield office have secured a five figure sum in compensation for a man who sustained serious ligament damage after slipping in a local supermarket.
Our client was walking through Tesco when he slipped on discarded flower heads which had been left on the floor. He fell onto his left hand side, sustaining severe ligament damage to his leg and tenderness in his left femur.
Following the fall, he has been treated with a variety of medication for the pain, but has found physiotherapy unhelpful.
A claim was brought against the defendant on 17 July 2012, with full liability being admitted on 9 October 2012.
A medical report was obtained which confirmed his injuries and recommended an extensive rehabilitation program inclusive of physiotherapy for our client. An MRI scan also revealed major damage to the hamstring muscles leading to severely impaired function.
Following the results of the medical evidence, £15,500 plus payment of the legal costs was secured in compensation due to the injuries sustained.
If you've been injured in a supermarket and it wasn't your fault, our personal injury claims team could help you claim compensation. See our Supermarket Accident Claims page for more information.
