Specialist public law solicitor Anne-Marie Irwin, from Irwin Mitchell’s London office, has secured new housing for a client who requires constant supervision.
The family of our client approached Irwin Mitchell when the local authority attempted to move 67-year-old G, who has a learning difficulty and epilepsy, out of his small residential home of 15 years to unsuitable accommodation away from his community and friends.
After Irwin Mitchell was instructed to challenge the decision, a judicial review was issued and the council subsequently offered G a suitable placement.
G’s family member informed Irwin Mitchell that G has settled into his new home very well. She said: "I would like to thank you and the team at Irwin Mitchell for the help you gave me in securing a suitable home for my step brother who has learning disabilities.
"This was a very worrying time for me. You and the team acted in a professional as well as caring manner at all times. I always felt supported. There was always someone available to help me if I had a problem or query. Please pass on my thanks to everyone."
